Trailer drops for Murdaugh: Death in the Family of Hulu and Disney+ Release
The first trailer has arrived for Murdaugh: Death in the family, a tense new limited series inspired by one of America’s most notorious true-crime sagas. The show will premiere in the US on Hulu and in the UK on Disney+ on October 15.
Set against the backdrop of South Carolina’s Lowcountry, the series follows Maggie and Alex Murdaugh, a couple whose wealth and influence place them at the pinnacle of a powerful legal dynasty. Their seemingly untouchable life begins to unravel after their son Paul is implicated in a fatal boating accident. As investigators dig deeper, troubling links to several suspicious deaths emerge—threatening to expose secrets the family has fought to keep buried.

Patricia Arquette takes on the role of Maggie Murdaugh, with Jason Clarke starring opposite her as Alex. The cast also includes Johnny Berchtold as Paul, Will Harrison as Buster Murdaugh, Brittany Snow as journalist Mandy Matney, J. Smith-Cameron as Marian Proctor, Gerald McRaney as Randolph Murdaugh, and Noah Emmerich as Randy Murdaugh.
The drama is co-created by Michael D. Fuller (Quarry, Rectify, Locke & Key) and documentarian Erin Lee Carr (Britney vs Spears, Mommy Dead and Dearest), drawing inspiration from the hit Murdaugh Murders Podcast. Executive producers include Fuller, Carr, Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund for Eat the Cat, Mandy Matney, David Moses, Bill Johnson, as well as stars Patricia Arquette and Jason Clarke. Steven Piet directed multiple episodes, including the premiere and finale. The series comes from UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.
With its mix of family drama, courtroom intrigue, and shocking revelations, Murdaugh Murders promises to deliver one of the most talked-about true-crime dramatizations of the year.
The series premieres October 15 on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK.
