New Shaun the Sheep film announced
Sky Cinema is producing a brand new Shaun the Sheep film for release in 2026.
Shaun the Sheep fans are in for a woolly exciting treat in 2026, as Sky teams up with the multi-award-winning Aardman studio to bring Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom to life as a Sky Original feature film.
In this new adventure, the Mossy Bottom Farm gang is gearing up for Halloween—until the bumbling Farmer accidentally destroys their cherished pumpkin patch. Determined to save the day, Shaun dons a “mad scientist” persona, but his plan quickly spirals into chaos. With the Farmer missing and a mysterious creature prowling the woods of Mossingham, the stage is set for a spooky, hilarious family-friendly romp.
Aardman and Sky are joining forces once again, with Sky serving as the exclusive UK distributor. The film will premiere both in cinemas and on Sky Cinema, while STUDIOCANAL will handle distribution internationally. This will be Aardman's third full-length stop-motion film featuring the beloved Shaun the Sheep.
2025 marks the 30th anniversary of Shaun’s debut in Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave. Since then, the character has become one of Aardman’s most successful creations, with the series airing in 170 countries and a seventh season arriving later this year. Shaun’s first feature film was a global hit, earning nominations for both BAFTA® and Academy Awards®, and was among 2015’s top-grossing animated films. Its sequel, A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, also garnered Oscar® and BAFTA® nods and critical acclaim. In 2021, Aardman released the Emmy-winning special Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas.
