Harry Potter TV series confirms six cast members.
Six cast members have been officially confirmed for the ‘Harry Potter’ TV series, which is coming to MAX in the U.S. and Sky TV in the UK.
I May Destroy You star Paapa Essiedu, 34, is confirmed to be playing Severus Snape.
John Lithgow has now been confirmed as Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore.
Nick Frost, 53, has also been confirmed to be starring as Rubeus Hagrid.
Also confirmed - Tumbleweeds actress Janet McTeer, 63, who’ll be stepping into the shoes of Head of Gryffindor House, Minerva McGonagall, Luke Thallon will play Quirinus Quirrell, the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone who turns out to be hiding a dark secret.
And lastly for now Paul Whitehouse, is going to be portraying Squib caretaker Argus Filch.
"The new series will feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of fantastic detail, much loved characters and dramatic locations that Harry Potter fans have loved for over 25 years," a statement from Max said.
The series will premiere in 2026 and will run for ten years.
