Radio 2 listeners were left in shock this morning as Eurovision entrant Vincent Gross, turned the air blue.
In the first few seconds of his interview with Scott Mills, the Swiss singer used the word "shit" and when Scott asked him not to swear, he responded "is shit swearing?".
A rushed apology was given by Scott to listeners, many of whom would have been families and children with the interview coinciding with the school run at 8:30am.
Listeners flocked to social media to mock the incident, whilst others complained about the non-family friendly content.
Vincent Gross is a 19 year old pop star, who will perform “Half A Smile” during Saturday’s grand final.
His foul language was bad timing for the station, which prides itself on being family friendly. Radio 2 this morning reported as loss of 360,000 listeners for its breakfast show, meaning hundreds of thousands switched off when Zoe Ball left in December.
In a bitter blow, it means Global station Heart is now reporting that it has overtaken Radio 2 for the first time ever, to become the UK's most-listened to station.
