The special crossover episode, officially titled Corriedale, will bring together the residents of Weatherfield and their Yorkshire neighbours in a thrilling, hour-long event.
Production for this landmark episode began in late September, with both production teams joining forces to deliver an action-packed story that promises lasting repercussions for characters across both series. While specifics of the plot and the stunt central to the episode remain under wraps, excitement is already building among fans and cast alike.
Corriedale is set to premiere on ITV, STV, ITVX, and YouTube in early 2026. The episode will coincide with the launch of ITV’s new “soap power hour,” featuring back-to-back weekday episodes: Emmerdale at 8:00 pm and Coronation Street at 8:30 pm.
Iain Macleod, ITV’s Executive Producer for Continuing Drama, said: “It’s incredibly exciting to see Corriedale in production. There’s a huge buzz at both the Leeds and Manchester sets, and the early images from filming are spectacular. And that’s before we even witness the interactions between characters from both shows! As a soap fan myself, I know the episode next year is going to be mind-blowing, historic, and absolutely unmissable.”
The crossover comes at a high point for both soaps, which have together reached 350 million streams on ITVX so far in 2025, marking a 31% increase year-on-year. August alone saw nearly 40 million streams, a 24% rise compared with the same month in 2024, highlighting the enduring popularity of Britain’s top soap operas.
Fans can expect Corriedale to deliver a unique blend of drama, suspense, and the signature storytelling that has made Coronation Street and Emmerdale fixtures of British television for decades.
