'Lightyear' leads big family films on TV this Easter
What films are on TV this Easter? BBC One has some huge family movies lined up.
‘Lightyear’ will premiere on BBC One and iPlayer this Easter, leading a raft of big movie highlights for families to enjoy on tv.
‘Lightyear’ is Disney Pixar’s ‘Toy Story’ prequel, which features Chris Evans as the voice of Buzz. Stranded on a hostile alien planet, intense space ranger Buzz Lightyear becomes test pilot for his large crew’s escape plan. Then an even more serious threat appears from space.
Animated sci-fi action comedy, telling the origin story of the popular Toy Story character. Fans can watch it Easter Saturday, 19 April, at 5.40pm on BBC One.
On Easter Sunday at 2.20pm, ‘Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway’ is on BBC One. Bea is delighted to be approached by ambitious publisher Nigel, but new husband Thomas is not so keen. Peter Rabbit, horrified to learn that he is being cast as a bad character, determinedly sets out on his own to the city. He is soon approached by Barnabas, who embroils Peter and his friends in some dastardly deeds.
And on Easter Monday at 7.20pm, Disney’s live action remake of ‘Dumbo’ directed by Tim Burton, is on BBC One. War veteran Holt Farrier returns to the Medici Brothers Circus to find them in hard times.
His two children, still mourning their mother, help him in his new position as caretaker for a newly acquired pregnant elephant, who gives birth to a calf with unusually large ears.
Elsewhere, Channel 4 will be showing ‘Oliver!’ on Easter Sunday, and ITV has lined up ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"‘, also for Easter Sunday afternoon. On Sky Cinema, ‘Trap’ and ‘The Parenting’ are available to stream from Easter Saturday.
