What is Jurassic World Rebirth about?
This summer, three years after the Jurassic World trilogy roared to a close—each film earning over $1 billion globally—the iconic Jurassic saga takes a bold new turn with Jurassic World: Rebirth.
Led by global action icon Scarlett Johansson, Emmy and SAG Award nominee Jonathan Bailey, and two-time Academy Award® winner Mahershala Ali, this thrilling new chapter follows an elite extraction team racing to the most perilous place on Earth: a remote island research facility once linked to the original Jurassic Park, now overrun by the deadliest remnants of the past.
The film also features celebrated international stars Rupert Friend and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and is directed by visionary filmmaker Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), from a screenplay by Jurassic Park’s original writer, David Koepp.
Set five years after Jurassic World Dominion, Earth’s ecosystems have grown increasingly hostile to dinosaurs. Those that remain live only in isolated equatorial zones that echo the prehistoric climates they once thrived in. Within this environment, the three largest creatures—ruling land, sea, and air—hold, in their genetic code, the potential for a revolutionary, life-saving drug.
Scarlett Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a highly trained covert operative assigned to lead a mission to recover this vital genetic material. But when her operation collides with a civilian family whose boat is wrecked by aquatic dinosaurs, everyone becomes stranded on the island—once home to a top-secret Jurassic Park research outpost. There, in a wild landscape teeming with diverse dinosaur species, they uncover a dark and long-buried secret.
Ali plays Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s closest ally. Jonathan Bailey (Wicked, Bridgerton) takes on the role of paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis. Rupert Friend (Homeland, Obi-Wan Kenobi) portrays Martin Krebs, a Big Pharma executive, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer, Murder on the Orient Express) plays Reuben Delgado, the father of the stranded civilian family.
The cast also includes Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty), and Audrina Miranda (Lopez vs. Lopez) as Reuben’s children, alongside Philippine Velge (Station Eleven), Bechir Sylvain (BMF), and Ed Skrein (Deadpool) as members of Zora and Krebs’ respective teams.
Jurassic World: Rebirth is directed by BAFTA Award-winner Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp (War of the Worlds), based on characters created by Michael Crichton.
