Iain Stirling to host BBC series 'Race Against the Tide'
Iain Stirling will host an entertaining new competition series for BBC Two called 'Race Against the Tide'.
Entertainment News: Set on a breathtaking Scottish beach, eight skilled teams face off in a high-stakes competition, where they battle not only each other but also the unpredictable forces of Mother Nature, as they create incredible sand sculptures.
The twist? The ticking clock of the incoming tide. With just 6 hours to complete their masterpieces – from when the tide goes out to when it returns – the pressure is on. Who will carve the ultimate sand sculpture before the sea sweeps it all away?
Iain Stirling is ready to keep the sculptors on their toes with daily craft challenges, all while entertaining them as the tide pulls back. As the waves begin to roll in, he’ll wave a red flag to signal the start of the judging, revealing which team will be sent home. Only one team will rise victorious and be crowned the Race Against the Tide champions.
Iain Stirling says: ‘Normally, when I’m asked to get beach-ready, it’s for a very different kind of show! But this one is unlike anything I’ve seen before, and filming in Scotland makes it even more special (and will make attending Hibs games much easier).’
Catherine Catton, Head of Commissioning, Factual Entertainment and Events, says: ‘We’re delighted to be partnering with Tern and BBC Scotland to bring this feel-good competition to audiences right across the UK. Whether you live near a beach or simply take the kids to the sand pit at the local park, the epic sand sculptures in this series are sure to inspire families everywhere to get out in nature and give it a go.’
This six-part series is the first adaptation of Blue Ant Studios’ Race Against the Tide, originally produced for CBC in Canada.
