Glen Powell's original comedy series for Disney Plus, 'Chad Powers' is not far away - it lands on 30 September!
Eight years after a disastrous mistake derails his once-bright college football career, former star quarterback Russ Holliday attempts a comeback by reinventing himself as Chad Powers — a quirky but gifted player who earns a spot on the struggling South Georgia Catfish. Inspired by the “Eli’s Places” segment from ESPN and Omaha Productions, the half-hour comedy from 20th Television will stream on Disney+ in the UK. The pilot was co-written by Glen Powell and Michael Waldron.
The cast features Glen Powell as “Russ Holliday/Chad Powers,” Perry Mattfeld as “Ricky,” Quentin Plair as “Coach Byrd,” Wynn Everett as “Tricia,” Frankie A. Rodriguez as “Danny,” and Steve Zahn as “Jake Hudson.”
“Chad Powers” is co-created and executive produced by Powell and Waldron. Eli Manning also executive produces alongside Omaha Productions’ Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown, and ESPN’s Burke Magnus, Brian Lockhart, and Kati Fernandez. Waldron and Adam Fasullo executive produce under Anomaly Pictures, with Luvh Rakhe also serving as executive producer and Tony Yacenda directing and executive producing. Powell stars in the series while co-creating and executive producing through his banner, Barnstorm Productions.
