Dianne and Vito on their 'Read Hot and Ready' tour: Exclusive Interview
We've been talking to 'Strictly' favourites Dianne Buswell and Vito Coppola about their upcoming UK tour, 'Red Hot and Ready'.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ stars Dianne Buswell and Vito Coppola have been talking about the upcoming season of Strictly, ahead of their huge UK tour.
Teasing the series, Dianne said “I go into Strictly the same every year… that is to give my partner a really amazing time and make sure they fall in love with dance as much as I love dance. You can’t go into the series with an aim or a goal because it changes every week and you just don’t know… so you just try your best”.
Vito added “Every year is so different and so unique. The best way to live it is go with the flow and follow the process and take the person infront of you and make the best out them. Just show how much they love dancing and get the sparkle and love to show. When we are behind the scenes, backstage or rehearsing, we have to be there and see the sparkle in their eyes and they feel so amazing and happy. That makes you proud because we’ve been able to give a part of our life to somebody else and it’s beautiful”.
The duo are coming together for their first ever joint tour, ‘Red Hot and Ready’, which kicks off in Shrewsbury on 11 and 12 June and continues right through until 26 July when they perform in Eastbourne. Along the way, they’ll play venues across the breadth of the country, giving everyone the chance to witness some Strictly magic.
“It’s fresh because we have new ideas and we’re doing things that have never been done before” says Dianne. “Yes there are moments that are sexy but that’s not the whole ethos, there are emotional bits and bits that will really make you laugh. I’d say it’s an emotional rollercoaster”.
On joining forces, Vito says “Sometimes words can’t describe when there is a person you really love. Dianne is a mate, she’s like a sister, a cousin… so when there is someone who means so much to you, you are so grateful. Whatever we work on together, it just works, we have the best time and we laugh a lot”.
Dianne adds “we’re always pushing to be the best we can, but we have an amazing choreographer who is at the top of his game, and we’re really lucky to be influenced by him.”
“It’s a show that will take people on a rollercoaster” says Vito. “There’s powerful dancing but you’re going to be laughing, we’re going to laugh, we’re going to sing, you’re going to cry, all that passion is going to be there! Usually we have it, but this show gives us the opportunity to show it! Strictly is more about the celebrity, this is about getting to know one another better with the audience. It’s different at Strictly, there’s a camera right infront of us, this is about dancing for the people sat infront of us, the people will feel my sweat!”
“That’s what I love so much about live theatre” adds Dianne, “you can feed from the audience so much, it’s an instant response and I just love it”.
“We also love to find lovely brunch spots! We love taking it all in, it’s tiring so we make sure as well as enjoying ourselves we also rest as possible to put on the best show”.
Vito adds “we love seeing the specific city, get a good brunch, get a good coffee and then we’re like boom! We’re ready to do it again!”.
What’s the secret to continued success? “Starting early obviously did help, but I don’t necessarily think that’s the key. I think it’s appreciating the good times and the bad times and never letting them get you down. Just keep going, you have to experience the both for it to work”.
