Daniel Mays Joins Star-Studded Cast for Big Night of Musicals Celebration
Big Night of Musicals 2025 airs 22 March.
Daniel Mays will join Jason Manford on Big Night of Musicals, coming to BBC One on Saturday 22 March.
Daniel Mays joins host Jason for a special musical number, adding his talent to the star-studded lineup. Marisha Wallace wows the crowd with a powerful rendition of "Maybe This Time" from Cabaret, while Layton Williams brings comedy and flair to the stage in the new show Titanique.
In front of an audience of 12,000, the show features unforgettable performances and special appearances from some of the biggest names in the industry, including Michael Ball, Marisha Wallace, Billy Porter, and many more.
The evening sees ten of the UK’s top West End and touring productions perform beloved songs and exclusive previews
In a heartwarming moment, Vicky McClure’s Our Dementia Choir joins Michael Ball for a moving performance of a musical theatre classic. Another standout performance features the stars of tomorrow, who unite for a special tribute to Billy Elliot.
The evening also includes memorable performances from some of musical theatre’s most iconic names, including Ruthie Henshall, Faye Tozer, and Billy Porter. Carrie Hope Fletcher takes audiences on a Wild West adventure with a performance from Calamity Jane, while the casts of Chicago, Mary Poppins, and Mean Girls deliver sensational numbers.
A UK TV first from Disney’s Hercules adds an extra layer of excitement, alongside incredible performances from Here and Now: The Steps Musical, Jim Steinman’s Bat Out of Hell, and Dear Evan Hansen.
The show also offers a behind-the-scenes look at Strictly star Johannes Radebe’s debut in Kinky Boots, along with a sneak peek at some of the exciting new shows set to hit UK theatres later this year.
