Capital Breakfast's Exec Producer pulled on air as Jordan North suffers competition nightmare.
Capital Breakfast host Jordan North suffered a presenter's worst nightmare this morning when the iconic Bong Game caused a stir.
Charmaine from Fathershom was this morning's player, enthusiastically coming on air and telling presenters Jordan, Chris Stark and Sian Welby she was planning to spend any prize money on a holiday.
In the game, contestants hear 'The Bong Man' read out accumulating amounts of money. But at some point, a bong sound effect will play and if the contestant hasn't shouted "stop!" before it does, they lose everything.
Charmaine was having a great game, with the amount quickly jumping from £1,500 to £3,000. But after The Bong Man read out £3,000, Charmaine hestiated and left it too late before shouting "Stop!".
The second the bong sound rang out, Charmaine quickly jumped in. With the presenters confused as to whether she was too late or not, she protested "I just shouted stop!", adding "I'm sure I got that before the bong".
Jordan interjected, immediately playing a song whilst officials at Capital were forced to "VAR it", listening back to see what the deal was.
After the song, the Executive Producer came on air, in an unprecedented move that hadn't never happened before. As the presenters reassured Charmaine that they'd always make the friendliest decision if they could, the Execx Producer Calum was forced to speak, reading out the terms and conditions. He told her "you do clearly shout stop after the bong game", adding "people pay money to enter and it's serious stuff".
As Jordan played back a clip of the moment, good sport Charmaine conceded that she had said it too late.
She's probably not too sad, she's already got a holiday booked for tomorrow, anyway.
