After more than seven decades recognising the biggest and best sporting achievements, BBC Sports Personality of the Year is returning tonight, live from the home of BBC Sport in MediaCity, Salford, for an evening of celebration.
The iconic awards show, famous for reflecting the sporting brilliance that has wowed the public over the last 12 months, will be live on BBC One and iPlayer from 7pm-9pm.
Clare Balding, Gabby Logan and Alex Scott will host the star-studded ceremony looking back at the most memorable moments before crowning this year’s winner, voted for by audiences for their contribution to sport.
2024 boasted a stunning 12 months of action with the Olympics and Paralympics taking place in Paris, Euro 2024 across Germany, Men’s and Women’s T20 World Cups and the Champions League final on home soil, at Wembley Stadium.
BBC Sport, the most-used sports broadcaster in the UK, was at the heart of the action, delivering the best of British sporting storytelling. It brought millions of people together for the men’s Euros and a set a streaming record for Paris 2024.
