Apple TV+ Orders New Limited Series The Off Weeks Starring Jessica Chastain and Ben Stiller
Apple TV+ is set to expand its roster of prestige dramas with The Off Weeks, an eight-part limited series led by Jessica Chastain and Ben Stiller. The project brings together an impressive creative team, with Michael Showalter (The Idea of You, The Dropout) directing and Alissa Nutting (Made for Love) serving as showrunner.
The series follows Gus Adler, a writing professor whose divorce upends his world. Juggling the challenges of fatherhood during the weeks he has custody of his children, Gus finds his life spiraling further when he becomes entangled with Stella West, a mysterious woman whose presence threatens to derail his responsibilities and ignite dangerous consequences.
Produced by Apple Studios in partnership with global independent studio wiip, the series boasts a high-profile lineup of executive producers. Nutting leads the production team, while Stiller produces through Red Hour alongside John Lesher. Chastain executive produces with Kelly Carmichael for Freckle Films, and Showalter teams with Jordana Mollick under Semi-Formal Productions. Additional executive producers include Paul Lee and Gabriel Fisher for wiip, as well as Peter Principato, Allen Fischer, and Brian Steinberg for Artists First. Dean Bakopoulos (Made for Love) also joins as executive producer.
The Off Weeks continues Apple TV+’s relationship with Stiller, who previously brought the award-winning hit Severance to the platform and is behind the upcoming documentary feature Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost. For Chastain, the series follows her forthcoming Apple Original thriller The Savant.
Since launching in 2019, Apple TV+ has built a reputation for delivering acclaimed original programming, with titles such as Ted Lasso and CODA earning top honors across television and film. The streamer has collected more than 2,800 award nominations and over 600 wins to date.
