Aisling Bea, Robert Sheehan and Adrian Dunbar to star in new Netflix drama Grown Ups
Aisling Bea (This Way Up, Get Away), Adrian Dunbar (Line of Duty), Peabody Award-winning Sarah Greene, Barry Ward (The End of the F**ing World*), and Robert Sheehan (Umbrella Academy) are set to headline Grown Ups, a compelling new Netflix drama based on Marian Keyes’ bestselling novel. Production has just begun in Ireland, with Sam Strauss, creator of Apple Cider Vinegar, serving as writer and showrunner.
Set in south County Dublin, the series delves into the turbulent lives of the Casey family, a lively and closely connected Irish clan. Tied together by loyalty, love, money, and lingering resentments, the family is thrown into chaos when the “good son,” the steady anchor of their world, dies unexpectedly.
Over the course of the following year, the Caseys must navigate heartbreak, confront old wounds, and forge new relationships, all while grappling with the everyday challenges and absurdities of adult life. Despite their responsibilities and years, the family often falls short of true adulthood, making for a mix of emotional intensity and darkly comic moments.
Sam Strauss told Netflix Tadum: “I know I’m not alone in being obsessed with every word Marian Keyes has ever written.
“It is a true life highlight to be trusted with her characters as we bring the Casey family and the world of Grown Ups to Netflix.”
The series is scheduled to premiere in 2026.
