Now, theversion.co.uk understands its creators Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne, are set to work on a brand new story to tell in a second season. A source told us “Absolutely everybody is talking and raving about this show, and there is no doubt that Netflix are going to want more.
It’s very likely that Adolescence will pick up many awards over the coming year and when the streaming figures come out, it will be clear just how big it is. There will definitely be conversations going on about where to go next”.
The first season follows 13-year-old Jamie Miller, who is arrested for the murder of his classmate, Katie Leonard. The series delves into the ensuing turmoil experienced by Jamie's family, his interactions with a clinical psychologist, and the investigative efforts of Detective Inspector Luke Bascombe.
